16.12.202509:29:16UTC+00Euro Area Manufacturing PMI at 8-Month Low

In December 2025, the HCOB Flash Eurozone Manufacturing PMI declined to 49.2, marking the lowest point in eight months. This is a decrease from 49.6 in November and below the anticipated 49.9. The data indicates deteriorating manufacturing conditions, largely driven by a deeper downturn in the German industry. Conversely, there are tentative signs of industrial recovery in France, though caution is advised against placing too much emphasis on a single month's data point. Across the Eurozone, there was a slight contraction in manufacturing output, halting a nine-month trend of growth. There was also a decline in new international business, and workforce numbers continued to shrink. In terms of pricing, input costs experienced their largest increase since August 2024, while selling prices remained largely stable. Nonetheless, there was an upswing in business sentiment.
